Does IQOS produce smoke? What is the “smoke” I see?

No, the IQOS system does not create smoke because it does not burn tobacco. Instead, by heating the tobacco in the tobacco stick to a specified temperature, IQOS generates a visible aerosol with real tobacco taste made almost entirely of water, glycerin and nicotine. As a result, the aerosol contains significantly reduced levels of harmful and potentially harmful constituents compared to cigarette smoke. Important information: IQOS is not risk-free. It delivers nicotine, which is addictive. *Average reductions in levels of a range of harmful chemicals (excluding nicotine) compared to the smoke of a reference cigarette (3R4F).
