What is the difference between burning and heating tobacco?

Burning tobacco involves fire or combustion, that results to a release of cigarette smoke and smell. Heating tobacco, on the other hand, does not involve any fire or burning. Because there is no fire, it releases a non-smoke aerosol – which is different from the smoke being released from a burning cigarette; along with other benefits such as no ash and less smell compared to cigarettes.
