Actually, nothing. The device simply won’t start. It’s designed to start only when it detects that a TEREA stick has been inserted into it.

What is the metal inside TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS? Should I be concerned?
TEREA tobacco sticks are designed to be used only with IQOS ILUMA devices that have SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM, which uses a metal heating element coated with stainless steel and placed inside a TEREA tobacco stick for heating of tobacco.
TEREA tobacco sticks should be kept out of reach of children and pets at all times and should not be taken apart, as the metal heating element has sharp edges. Swallowed TEREA tobacco sticks can cause serious injury to internal organs due to the presence of this metal heating element. If TEREA tobacco sticks are swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Always dispose of TEREA tobacco sticks immediately after use according to local waste disposal regulations.
What do I do if the TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS breaks inside the IQOS ILUMA Holder?
Do not remove TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS while in use. Before extracting the TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS, please ensure your Holder is switched off.
To switch off your Holder, place it in the Pocket Charger and press the Pocket Charger button for 4 seconds until all Pocket Charger lights turn off.
To confirm that it is off, remove the Holder from the Pocket Charger and quickly press the Holder button. If no lights appear, the Holder is off, and it is safe to proceed with the extraction. If lights appear, repeat the previous step to turn off the Holder.
Once the Holder is off, allow the stick to cool down before removing it.
With caution, use your two fingers to remove the TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS.
If this does not work, with caution, try using a toothpick to remove the part of the stick that remains in the device.
It is important that extreme caution is used when inserting any object into the heating chamber, as excessive force may damage the internal surfaces within.
Once the remaining part of the TEREA SMARTCORE STICK is removed, please look inside the Holder to make sure that there is no debris left at the bottom of the heating chamber.
To turn the Holder back on, place it in the Pocket Charger and press the Pocket Charger button for 4s until all the lights turn on and the charge level is displayed.
