What is IQOS LEVIA?
LEVIA are a new type of nicotine stick for the IQOS ILUMA series. Compatible with all ILUMA devices, IQOS LEVIA offers a new, tobacco-free way to experience nicotine.
Whether you’re already an IQOS ILUMA user or an adult smoker only just making the switch from continued smoking to ILUMA, our new IQOS LEVIA sticks are worth getting to know.
This article dives into the essentials of IQOS LEVIA. Read on for further details on exactly what these sticks are, how they work, and how they compare to the other IQOS consumables on the market.
What Are LEVIA Sticks?
LEVIA sticks are tobacco-free nicotine sticks, compatible exclusively with devices in the IQOS ILUMA series.
IQOS LEVIA goes beyond heated tobacco, providing an aromatic, nicotine experience with zero tobacco. Instead, LEVIA includes cellulose-based ingredients, which are carefully processed into a neutral carrier to maximise its flavour experience.
How Does IQOS LEVIA Work?
When correctly inserted into an ILUMA device, IQOS LEVIA is heated in a specific way to create the aerosol users consume. This aerosol comes from heating the LEVIA stick. Like TEREA, LEVIA is heated in ILUMA devices via innovative SMARTCORE induction technology.
While IQOS LEVIA sticks are heated with the same device as TEREA tobacco sticks, using the same technology, they have different heating profiles. This means that, given you’ve updated the firmware on your device, the ILUMA will identify a LEVIA stick from a TEREA, and adjust how it heats the stick accordingly.
How Is IQOS LEVIA Different from TEREA and HEETS?
IQOS LEVIA differs from both TEREA and HEETS in a few ways. Here’s a list with some of the main differences between the three sticks.
- Tobacco contents: TEREA and HEETS both contain tobacco, whereas LEVIA is tobacco-free.
- Devices: TEREA and LEVIA can only be used in devices from the IQOS ILUMA series, whereas HEETS can only be used in older, bladed device generations.
- Technology: Through IQOS ILUMA, TEREA and LEVIA are heated utilising SMARTCORE induction technology. Comparatively, older, bladed device generations heat HEETS tobacco sticks via HeatControl technology.
- Flavour: TEREA, HEETS and LEVIA also differ in terms of their flavours. LEVIA provides distinguished flavours that range from cool, crisp and peppermint to fruity and floral notes. HEETS and TEREA flavours all offer a tobacco taste, but can come with additional notes like zest, menthol, or fruit - depending on the specific flavour choice.

Smoke-free products are not risk-free and provide nicotine, which is addictive. The best decision any adult smoker can make is to quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether. Smoke-free products are not alternatives to quitting and are not designed as cessation aids.
