The IQOS Manual: How to Use IQOS
Find out how to use IQOS with our instructions for getting started, charging, cleaning, and maintaining it in its best condition.
When using your IQOS device, you may want to know whether you can switch it off after a couple of puffs. Will it have a negative effect on your device?
Generally, a HEETS tobacco stick will last for roughly the same amount of time as a cigarette, and it’s recommended that people try to stick to this when using IQOS, letting the experience run its course in full.
If you’re wondering how to use your IQOS device properly, here we’ll take a look at how many puffs are in a HEETS stick, and how many times you can use IQOS. Just keep reading to find out everything you need to know.
There are around 12-14 puffs in a HEETS stick, lasting for around five-six minutes. The experience of using IQOS provides a ritual similar to that of smoking a cigarette.
But can you switch IQOS off after a couple of puffs? When using IQOS, you should complete the experience the device and tobacco sticks are designed for, rather than stopping and re-starting after a couple of puffs, for example.
As one HEETS stick lasts for around the same length of time as a cigarette, when considering how many HEETS sticks you might use per day, you might use the same number. For example, somebody who is used to smoking ten cigarettes per day might use ten HEETS tobacco sticks if they switch to heated tobacco.
A HEETS tobacco stick is designed to be used once and then disposed of – it’s not meant to be used twice. Likewise, it’s important that only HEETS sticks are used with IQOS, rather than other tobacco sticks.
However, you can use your IQOS device twice before you have to recharge the holder. Our IQOS DUO 3 can be used twice, while the holder charging time is faster too. You can check whether you’ve got one or two uses left, or if the device needs recharging, by looking at the lights on the device and the holder. Two lights indicate that your IQOS device is fully charged, while one light means that it can be used once, and no lights mean that it needs to be recharged.
If your device needs charging, you can plug it into a power outlet using your IQOS AC adaptor and cable. It takes approximately 120 minutes to fully charge the IQOS 3 DUO pocket charger from an electrical outlet.
Using IQOS is simple, with just a few steps to remember – ensure that you follow the experience all the way through too, without switching your device off after a couple of puffs.
To use your IQOS device, just insert a HEETS stick into the holder, tobacco end first, and without twisting it or lifting the holder cap. Press the holder button until it vibrates – when there are two vibrations with both status lights on, it’s ready for use.
Put the HEETS filter into your mouth and inhale – the holder will vibrate with pulsing lights when two puffs or 30 seconds are left. Slide up the holder cap to remove the HEETS stick and then dispose of it.
