Get to know your IQOS device

It is highly recommended to always keep your IQOS device between the temperature range to get the best experience. All IQOS devices work best when the environmental temperature is within the optimal range.

Your IQOS will work in a wide range of temperatures. However, heat-not-burn consumables taste best when the system is operated within a certain temperature range.

That range varies from model to model. The optimal range for each device is as follows:

●       IQOS 3 DUO: approximately 0° to 50°C.
●       IQOS ORIGINALS: approximately 0° to 50°C
●       IQOS ILUMA: approximately 0 and 40°C.

When the device is outside of the operating temperature, some status lights might blink.  

Always try to keep your IQOS devices fully charged to never miss an experience. Make sure to fully charge your device before the first use, too. 
●       Ensure you are using the right consumables in the device. IQOS ILUMA is designed to be used only with compatible TEREA sticks. IQOS ORIGINALS and IQOS 3 devices are designed to be used only with compatible HEETS sticks. Each device won’t work unless you use the correct tobacco stick.
●       After approximately 20 TEREA or HEETS tobacco sticks, carefully clean the Holder and cap with the IQOS cleaning tools. 
●       Enjoy your experience by drawing gently and taking longer breaks between puffs. This will also help the tobacco sticks to last longer. 
●       Regularly update your device’s firmware. 

Once you have bought your IQOS device, you will get the full IQOS Kit.

You will find your IQOS user guide inside the IQOS Kit, as it is included in the original IQOS packaging.

All IQOS devices heat the tobacco sticks and do not burn like cigarettes.

Even though the IQOS tobacco heater is not a cigarette, you need to review the rules and regulations regarding this device in public spaces.

It is important to respect the rules and use common sense on whether you can use IQOS products in both indoor and public settings.

IQOS products produce a different type of vapour compared to cigarette smoke. However, this does not mean that IQOS is risk-free for you and those around you. You should be mindful when using it around others.

When you’re around minors or pregnant women, IQOS products should not be used.

While you are travelling by plane, you should ask permission from the airline staff. Most airlines currently do not allow smoking or alternative tobacco product use on their aircrafts.

It is important to note that IQOS product usage is determined by the local laws or establishment.

Because IQOS products operate electronically, they should be treated with the same care as other electronic devices. The following guidance will help you care for your IQOS device:

●       Avoid using the device in rain and other extreme types of weather.
●       Make sure your IQOS is protected from water, sunlight and heat.
●       Do not leave your IQOS in a hot place for a long time as  hot environments can damage the battery.
●       The IQOS holder must always be completely dry before being inserted into the pocket charger.
●       When temperatures are cold, a potential malfunction can be avoided by briefly warming the device in your hands.

Make sure to take care of your IQOS device and always keep it within its operating temperature range. 

There are two ways you can check how many uses you have left with your IQOS device before it requires recharging. You can check either on the Holder or the Pocket Charger, when the Holder is inside.

Checking uses on the Holder:

  1. Tilt the Holder towards you or short press the Holder’s button.
  2. The lights will come on and indicate the battery level.
    a. When 2 lights are on it means the holder is ready for 2 uses.
    b. 1 light  means it’s ready for 1 use only. 

Checking uses on the Pocket Charger:

  1. Short press the side button on the Pocket Charger once the Holder is inside the charger.
  2. The Pocket Charger light will turn on.
  3. 2 lights mean the Holder is ready for 2 uses.
  4. 1 light indicates it’s ready for 1 use.

Now you’re all set to enjoy your tobacco experience.

The IQOS Holder and Pocket Charger are designed to be safe electronic devices, when you follow the instructions in the User Guide.  

They both comply with the EU consumer electronic safety requirements, shown by the “CE" (European Conformity) symbols on the packaging. You’ll find more details in the User Guide.

Store your device in an environment that’s not too dry or too humid. It’s also important to keep your IQOS away from liquids and heat sources.

IQOS is an electronic device that heats tobacco instead of burning it. To start heating tobacco: The tobacco heatsticks must be inserted in the Holder, tobacco side down until the silver line. Make sure to never twist a tobacco heatstick in the holder, as this could damage the Heating Blade. Remember that the Holder must be charged. If it is an IQOS 3 DUO or IQOS 2.4 Plus, you can charge the Holder with the Charger. If it is an IQOS 3 MULTI, you can charge the device with the IQOS USB Cable and Power Adaptor. The experience will last around 6 minutes or 14 puffs. The tobacco is heated instead of burnt, so it does not produce ash. Once finished, lift the Cap before pulling out the tobacco heatstick. Do not twist.
Any white light indicates that the device performs various operations, like charging, re-initialization, ready to use, fully charged etc. Any red light indicates that there is a device error or device operates outside its operating temperature (0 - 50°C). Please, perform a reset of your device and try again. Still no luck? Please contact Customer Care at 0 800 814 814 all week.

Charging time may differ depending on IQOS versions**:

• IQOS 3 DUO: It takes approximately 120 minutes to fully charge the Charger. 
• IQOS 2.4 Plus: It takes approximately 120 minutes to fully charge the Charger
• IQOS MULTI: It takes approximately 75 minutes to fully charge the device

To charge IQOS you will need to use the IQOS USB Cable and the Power Adaptor provided with the device.  

** Charging time may depend on several factors such as: use, configuration of the device, life time of the battery and weather conditions.

Resetting your device is very simple:

IQOS 3 DUO: press and hold the Charger button for 10 seconds, then release.
IQOS 3 MULTI: press and hold the button for 10 seconds, then release.
IQOS 2.4 Plus: press and hold the on/off button together with Bluetooth button for 2 seconds, then release.

If the heating Blade is broken, the Holder cannot be used to heat the tobacco. If this happens, please contact an IQOS representative at 800 1 IQOS MX (800 1 476769).

You can easily clean your IQOS Holder & IQOS Cap in a few simple steps:

IQOS Holder:
Prepare: Wait for at least 30 seconds to cool down the blade; Remove the cap; Slide open your IQOS Cleaning Tool 
Insert: With a straight and gentle gesture, insert the IQOS Cleaning Tool until it touches the bottom of the heating chamber. Do not twist yet!
Clean: Without any further pushing pressure, gently twist IQOS Cleaning Tool 2-3 times. Stop twisting, and extract the Cleaning Tool straight from the Holder. Gently tap the Holder and the Cleaning Tool to remove the tobacco residuals.
Finalize: Use the IQOS Cleaning Stick as a finishing touch by inserting it straight along the chamber. Clean the area of the bottom of the heating chamber by half-arch, but not circular, movements. Remember to not push it or hit against the blade (do not attempt to clean the blade itself, but only the bottom of the heating chamber)                   

IQOS Cap:
Clean the inside of the IQOS Cap from the top with the IQOS Cleaning Sticks.
Usage tips: Make sure you don’t accidentally start heating your device during cleaning (avoid pressing the Holder button)
Clean the Holder only with a clean and not damaged tool   Never use water to clean your IQOS Cleaning Tool or Holder. Avoid contact of IQOS Cleaning Tool or IQOS Cleaning Sticks.
Never use cleaning agents, solvents, chemicals, volatiles, compressed air or any liquids to clean the Holder, the Cap or the IQOS Cleaning Tool.
Do not attempt to clean the blade itself, but only the bottom of the heating chamber

To check the charge level of the IQOS 3 Duo Pocket Charger, press & release the Pocket Charger Button. The Pocket Charger Status light will turn ON for 3 sec to indicate battery status: 4 LEDs = more than 75% charged 1 LED  = low charge. Need to charge
